‘Entire Cong unit at Kishtwar joins Apni Party’

The entire district Congress committee unit of Kishtwar, under the leadership Mohinder Singh Parihar and retired Principal District Sessions Judge, Ashok Shan on Friday joined Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) here, a statement said.

It said the party had organised an impressive function at its headquarters here to welcome the entire unit, Youth Congress leaders, National Students Union of India (NSUI) and prominent persons, into the party fold.

The joining was facilitated by senior leader of J&K Apni Party from Kishtwar, Syed Asgar Ali. The JKAP senior leaders welcomed the entrants into the party fold. The statement said they were welcomed into the party by JKAP’s senior leaders including Muhammed Dilawar Mir, Aijaz Ahmed Khan, Manjit Singh and others.

Speaking on the occasion, Mir said people were joining JKAP because of the pragmatic and positive political approach of the party on various issues confronted people.

He questioned a political party for its failure to take up statehood issues before the government.

“National Conference leaders have been reviving demand for separate statehood for Jammu which reveals their political motive to further widen division in Jammu and Kashmir regions,” Mir said expressing his concern over the “divisive politics.”

He asked National Conference leaders to come clear on their statement whether they want further division of J&K or what was the motive of their statements.
