NC desisted from indulging in real-politick as it firmly believes that such tactics were detrimental to the larger interest of the sensitive state like J&K.
National Conference general secretary Ali Muhammed Sagar Wednesday described the fractured mandate in recent elections as manifestation of “deceit and duplicity” perpetrated by political opportunists to divide the people by inciting passions for electoral gains.
“NC desisted from indulging in real-politick as it firmly believes that such tactics were detrimental to the larger interest of the sensitive state like J&K”, he said while reviewing the party performance in Rajouri and Poonch districts at a meeting here.
Provincial President Jammu, Devender Singh Rana was also present on the occasion.
Sagar said NC will overcome all difficulties given its cadre base and “more than winning or losing elections, it was imperative to sustain the political environment that has been generated due to relentless efforts of Omar Abdullah during the past six years.”
“NC’s political struggle is full of sacrifices. Our workers and leaders have fell to the bullets but never compromised with their principles”, he said adding the party has kept the flag of secularism aloft and worked for political emancipation and economic empowerment of all the segments of society.
Speaking on the occasion, provincial president Jammu urged the party workers to close their ranks and work towards steering NC to its pristine glory. “Given the strength of disciplined grassroots level cadres, we are confident to overcome all our challenges with courage and fortitude,” he said.
Rana hoped that this momentum will have to be maintained and mass outreach enhanced to highlight the problems of the people and seeking their redressal at appropriate levels.
