Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik, his advisors and politicians have greeted people on the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi.
In his message of felicitations, the Governor said that thisday, which marks the beginning of the New Year in the Indian calendar, has aspecial significance for the people of northern India, particularly for theSikh community as the Khalsa Panth was born on this day.
The Governor said that in the northern states, Baisakhi alsomarks the commencement of the harvesting season, when farmers reap the fruit oftheir hard work. He observed that the celebration of this festival is a shiningexample of our glorious pluralistic traditions.
Advisors to Governor, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai and Advisor K K Sharma alsogreeted people on the occasion of Baisakhi.
