Govt constitutes committee to examine delay in payments

General Administration Department (GAD) today constituted a five members committee to examine issues of delay in payments of Public Works Department, Saubhagya Schemes, and Rural Development and Panchayati Raj and Industries and Commerce Department. For this purpose, the GAD constituted a committee consisting of Financial Commissioner, Finance Department Dr Arun Kumar Mehta as Chairman, Administrative Secretary, Power Development Department, Administrative Secretary, Public Works (R&B) Department, Administrative Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department and Administrative Secretary, Department Rural Development and Panchayati Raj as members.

This committee will examine the issues of delay in payment pertaining to macademization of roads by the Public Works (R&B) Department, Saubhagya Scheme, works executed in the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj and Industries and Commerce Department. The committee will also monitor and streamline the payment of dues for works and supplies which have been done in compliance with rules and ensure timely payment. It will continue to function till all backlogs of payments as on September 15, 2020 are settled. It will be served by the Industries and Commerce Department.  GKNN
