Govt extends joining date of newly selected medical officers

In consideration of the difficulty faced by newly selected medical officers due to inclement weather, Government has granted an extension of ten days to the appointees for reporting at their respective places of postings.

In an order issued by health and medical education department (H&ME) on 14 January 2019, 921 medical officers selected in J&K Health and Family Welfare (Gazetted) service had been directed to submit their joining report at their respective places of posting within a period of 21 days, expiring on 3 February. In case of failure in joining within stipulated time, “the appointment shall be deemed to have been cancelled ab inito without any further notice” the order said.

   

However, on Friday, H&ME department granted the appointees extension of 10 days upto 13 February 2019. The decision has been taken in view of the difficulties the newly selected doctors are facing in reaching their places of due to inclement weather conditions.
