The Jammu and Kashmir government has initiated exercise for ‘finalization of annual plan 2015-16’ with the Planning and Development department issuing schedule for holding plan discussion meetings with different departments.
Reliable sources informed Greater Kashmir that the meetings to be held separately with key departments, will review project proposals and demands under all major heads, including State Plan, Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) and Prime Minister’s Reconstruction Programme (PMRP). Simultaneously, the departments have also been asked to submit revised estimates of 2014-15, sources added.
As per the schedule issued by the Planning department, the sector wise discussions (meetings), to continue for nine days, were started a few days ago. “On January 27, discussions were held with Tourism andSocial Welfare department, while on January 28 discussions were held with Power, Forest and PHE/Irrigation and Flood Control departments” sources said.
Similarly, the department held meetings with Industry and Commerce, PWD (R&B) on January 29 and with Animal & Sheep Husbandry and Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil and LAHDC (Leh) on January 30.
Likewise, discussions with the departments of School Education, Rural Development, Housing and Urban Development and Labour and Employment will be held on February 2, while on February 3, meetings will be held to discuss the Science and Technology, Information Technology, Cooperative, Law, Finance, Revenue, Home, Civil Aviation, Information, Estates, H&P, ARI and Training, IMPA, State Information , Commission and PSC, Survey and Statistics and Planning Machinery.
On February 4, the meetings will be held for CAPD/Transport, Agriculture/Floriculture, Health and Medical Education, SKIMS and SKIMS Medical College.
Sources said the discussions on district plans for 10 districts of Jammu province will be held on February 5 and discussions for districts of Kashmir province are scheduled to be held on February 6. It is pertinent to mention here that last year the state government had projected a plan size of Rs 11900 crore including Rs 7300 crore state plan, Rs 4000 crore CSS and Rs 600 crore under PMRP.
