Grand Gurmat Samagam held in Jammu

The grand Gurmat Samagam organised to commemorate the 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji here concluded on Monday.

The Samagam was organised by Guru Nanak Sewa CharitableTrust and was sponsored by MD & CEO Peaks Group of Automobiles S BaldevSingh Raina under the patronage of Mahant Manjit Singh Ji of Dera Nangali SahibPoonch and with the cooperation of S Tarlochan Singh Wazir chairman StateGurudwara Parbhandhak Board, organisers said in a statement.

   

They said thousands of devotees from all over the stateparticipated in the programme.

Distinguished speakers from all over India while speaking onthe occasion appreciated the organisers for holding a program of such amagnitude. They also praised the Sangat of Jammu and Kashmir for exhibitingtireless devotion throughout the day.

The main attraction of the function was the prizedistribution to the top six contestants who participated in the “Koun BanegaGursikh Pyara” competition held in ten states in which 70,000 students,including 300 Muslim and 250 Hindu students, participated in two different agegroups.

The first prize of Alto 800 car was bagged by Priya Kourdaughter of S Ravinder Singh of Baramulla in group A and  Damanpreet Kourdaughter of S Sarabjit Singh of Gurdaspur bagged Alto 800 car from group B.Both the cars were sponsored by S Baldev Singh Raina MD & CEO Peaks Group.

Similarly two second prizes from both the groups comprisingof Rs. 100000/ cash were bagged by Arashdeep Kour daughter of S Nirmal Singh ofBatala Gurdaspur  and Gagandeep Kourdaughter of  S Sarabjit Singh ofPatiala  Punjab respectively .

S. Baldev Singh Raina, Managing Director and Chief ExecutiveOfficer Peaks Group while addressing the Samagam said that “in future we willcreate worthy and prestigious platforms for younger generations in educationand religious fields that will be in the reach of all and needy.”
