Handwara resident escapes from quarantine centre at Samba, booked

Police on Monday booked a man from handwara town of northern Kashmir for escaping from a quarantine center in Samba district.

“A person was kept at the quarantine center established atRadha Soami Ashram Thandi Khui in Vijaypur (Samba district). He, however,escaped from the center, without any having any permission to do so,” saidpolice.

   

The authorities immediately brought the issue into ournotice and a police team led by SHO Ramgarh Inspector Chaman Gorka launched themanhunt and apprehended the escaped person, the officials said.

“The person was immediately shifted to the quarantinecenter,” the official said.

An FIR was registered against him under relevant sections atPolice Station Ramgarh, the Police said.

Meanwhile, three thieves decamped with a laptop, two mobilephones and some cash from an inmate in a quarantine center at Hiranagar(Kathua).

“We have started investigation and the thieves would soon beapprehended,” said SSP Kathua, Shalindera Mishra.
