High alert sounded in Jammu after suspects seen near Bathindi, Arnia

A high alert has been sounded in Jammu, Samba, Kathua and neighbouring state of Punjab after some suspects were seen near Bathindi and Arnia areas of Jammu on Thursday.

 “We received an input from PCR about some suspicious activity in Bathindi. Accordingly, all nakas have been put on high alert in Jammu district to avoid any untoward incident,” SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta said.  

Sources said that a person made a telephonic call to PCR in the day that and claimed that he saw three suspects in a black coloured Haryana number car near Wave Mall, Jammu.

They said that the person also told the PCR that the trio was carrying AK47 rifles with them.

 “Accordingly, Jammu and Kashmir police and SOG men conducted searches in Bathindi, Sunjwan and Gangyal areas to trace the car, but found nothing,” sources said.

Meanwhile, according to reports, movement of suspects was also noticed in Arnia Village of Jammu district.

As the news about movement of suspects is spreading fast, authorities have asked the police, army and other agencies to remain extra alert.

 “The neighbouring state of Punjab has also been asked to strengthen its security grid in view of reports of movement of suspects,” sources added.
