‘Housing for All’: Government constitutes committees for monitoring, implementation

The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday sanctioned the constitution of divisional and district-level committees for monitoring and implementation of “Housing for All – Urban (HFA-U) mission”.

An order issued from the office of commissioner secretary to government Hilal Ahmad read, “Sanction is herby accorded to the constitution of divisional and district-level committees for monitoring and implementation of Housing for All –Urban mission in the state.”

   

As per the order, the divisional-level committee Jammu shall comprise of divisional commissioner Jammu as chairman, while commissioner Jammu municipal corporation, director urban local bodies Jammu, vice-chairman Jammu development authority and chief executive officer Jammu urban development agency will be members. Besides, managing director J&K housing board, shall be the member secretary in the committee.

Furthermore, the divisional-level committee Kashmir shall consist of divisional commissioner Kashmir as chairman, while commissioner Srinagar municipal corporation, director urban local bodies Kashmir, vice-chairman Srinagar development authority and chief executive officer urban development agency Kashmir will be members. Besides, managing director J&K housing board, shall be the member secretary.

The order further states that the district-level committees shall consist of concerned district development commissioners as chairman, while concerned assistant commissioners revenue, chief executive officer/executive officer of concerned municipalities, project officers of the concerned district urban development agency and concerned city-level technical cell experts will be members. Besides, deputy general manager J&K housing board shall be the member secretary

“The terms of the reference of the district-level committee shall be to review the progress of the scheme on weekly basis in the concerned district,” the order states.
