Jammu schools asked to provide space for installing martyr memorials

“I am directed to intimate that concerned officers of BSF/CRPF may be allowed to install the plaque, smarak, memorial of the martyr in their schools as a mark of honour to their martyrdom,” the order reads. The undersigned also cleared that expenditure on this account has to be borne by the concerned force.

Directorate of School Education, Jammu in a communication has directed all ten Chief Education Officers of the district to grant permission for establishment of martyrs memorials on the school premises.

According to an order number DSEJP7562018-1910894-906 dated October 10, 2018, the CEOs of Jammu, Samba, Udhampur, Reasi, Kathua, Doda, Ramban, Kishtwar, Rajouri and Poonch have been asked to provide such space. 

“This office (DSE-J) is receiving various communications from Para Military Forces including Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Border Security Force (BSF) regarding installation of SMARAK- (memorial ) of martyrs on the premises of schools, where these martyrs had studied falling near their native villages,” the order reads.
