JK Govt notifies polling days as public holiday

The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday issued an order, announcing public holidays on all polling days for the respective constituencies, which would be going to polls in phased manner.

According to government order, holiday would be observed inBaramulla, Kupwara and Bandipora of Kashmir and Jammu, Samba, Rajouri andPoonch of Jammu on April 11, the day when Jammu-Poonch and Baramullaconstituencies going to polls in first phase.

   

Similarly for second phase of election, Srinagar, Budgam andGanderbal of Kashmir and Udhampur, Kathua, Reasi, Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban ofJammu would observe holiday on April 18.

For third phase, Anantnag district will observe holiday onApril 23, Kulgam on April 29 and Pulwama on May 6. Leh & Kargil districtwill observe holiday on May 6.

The poll days indicated above shall also be declared as paidholidays to every person employed in any business, trade, industrialundertakings or any other establishment and entitled to vote Daily waged/casualworkers shall also be entitled for the holidays and wages on the poll days.GKNN
