J&K to get six anti-graft police stations

Jammu and Kashmir government has approved six anti-corruption police stations in the state.

As per the government order, six ACB police stations would be established in a phased manner over a period of three financial years viz. 2018-19, 2019-20 and 2020-21. 

   

In first phase for the financial year 2018-19 police stations for Doda and Anantnag were sanctioned, while for second phase for year 2019-20 ACB Police Stations for Baramulla and Rajouri are planned and for third phase for the year 2020-21 police stations for Udhampur and central are planned.

In addition to this, 398 posts of various categories in a phased manner over a period of three financial years viz. 2018-19, 2019-20 and 2020-21 for the aforementioned Police Stations have been created.

The order stated that in exercise of powers conferred by clause (0) of sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, Samvat, 1989 and in supersession of notification SRO 229 of 1976 dated 23rd April, 1976, the Government has also notified the territorial jurisdiction of the police stations of Anti Corruption Bureau for investigation of offences triable under the prevention of corruption act, Samvat, 2006, the Jammu and Kashmir criminal law amendment act, 1958 and the provisions of the code of criminal procedure, Samvat 1989 shall, so far as relevant, apply in respect thereto.
