JMC launches beautification drive

In continuation to its earlier drives for beautification of Jammu City, Jammu Municipal Corporation has initiated a step towards beautification of Jammu city in collaboration with J&K Bank.

The basic objective of the drive is to project the cultural heritage and the historical importance of Jammu and Kashmir state, an official said.

   

The beautification drive was inaugurated with first brush stroke on the wall near Brig. Rajinder Singh Chowk by divisional commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma and chairman J&K Bank Parvaiz Ahmed, in the presence of deputy commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar and commissioner JMC Arvind Kotwal. Executive president J&K Bank R K Chibber and Sunil Gupta, president J&K Bank, were also present.

Divisional commissioner, in his address, appreciated the efforts of commissioner JMC and also thanked the chairman J&K Bank for his immense support. He also lauded the efforts made by administration and JMC for paintings work done on the pillars below fly over at Bikram Chowk Jammu. He further stressed upon all officers to put in collective efforts to enhance aesthetic of city of temples.

JMC commissioner also thanked all the dignitaries for being enthusiastically participating in the whole program which shall be carried out further in various parts of Jammu city.
