JU organises colloquium on World Cancer Day

On the occasion of World Cancer Day on Monday, the school of biotechnology, university of Jammu organised colloquium in collaboration under the banner of LBNROH, a cancer care foundation trust of UICC Geneva, Switzerland.

A press statement issued by the varsity said that the event was held in collaboration with Sri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) Katra and Government Medical College, Jammu.   

   

The theme of the event was “Cancer is Preventable”.  The students, scholars from environmental sciences, human genetics and school of biotechnology participated in the event.

During the event, students laid emphasis on the need to modify the life style and adopt healthy living practices that include daily exercise, healthy diet, saying no to smoking and consumption of liquor and living in pollution free environment.  

The event was judged by Dr Piyush Malvia from department of environmental sciences, Dr Perwinder Kumar from department of zoology and human genetics, Prof Jyoti Vakhlu, Dr Sanjana Kaul and Dr Nisha Kapoor.
