JU organises weeklong workshop on ‘Advanced Data Analysis Tools and Techniques’

Postgraduate department of commerce (SAP-DRS III), university of Jammu organised aweeklong workshop on “Advanced Data Analysis Tools and Techniques” under”Innovative Research Activities” scheme under RUSA.

As per therelease, the workshop was initiated to acquaint faculty and research scholarswith the higher order research techniques like Partial Least Square-BasedStructural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), experimental research design andqualitative research techniques.

   

The workshopscheduled for one-week was planned in four sessions per day in which ShankarMM, mentor, research and training, CARES, Bangalore in a detailed and illustrativemanner explained the R and R Studio softwares and also enabled the participantsto be well equipped working on these softwares for first three days.

Subsequentsessions were directed towards providing insights into experimental designs,classifying variables in experimental research and interpreting the results ofexperimental research.

Next twodays of the workshop concentrated on the qualitative research, which washandled by Dr Sunil Budhiraja, associate professor, Mittal school of business,LPU, Punjab having a decade of teaching and research experience.

He provideda comprehensive overview of qualitative research framework and nuances ofdesigning studies using qualitative methods. Hands­ on training in theapplications of ATLAS­-ti and NVIVO software in qualitative research dataprocessing were the peculiar features of this workshop.

Dr JeevanJyoti was the workshop director and Dr Harleen Kaur was the workshopco-director, which was attended by more than 73 faculty and research scholarsacross various universities and colleges of Jammu.

The resourcepersons were felicitated by Prof Neetu Andotra, dean business studies; ProfHardeep Chahal, rector Udhampur campus and Prof Gurjeet Kaur, head, departmentof commerce, university of Jammu.
