JU organises weeklong workshop on 'Advanced Data Analysis Tools and Techniques'

Post graduate department of commerce (SAP-DRS III), university of Jammu organised a weeklong workshop on “Advanced Data Analysis Tools and Techniques” under “Innovative Research Activities” scheme under RUSA.

As per the release, the workshop was initiated to acquaint faculty and research scholars with the higher order research techniques like Partial Least Square-Based Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), experimental research design and qualitative research techniques.

The workshop scheduled for one-week was planned in four sessions per day in which Shankar MM, mentor, research and training, CARES, Bangalore in a detailed and illustrative manner explained the R and R Studio softwares and also enabled the participants to be well equipped working on these softwares for first three days.

Subsequent sessions were directed towards providing insights into experimental designs, classifying variables in experimental research and interpreting the results of experimental research.

Next two days of the workshop concentrated on the qualitative research, which was handled by Dr Sunil Budhiraja, associate professor, Mittal school of business, LPU, Punjab having a decade of teaching and research experience.

He provided a comprehensive overview of qualitative research framework and nuances of designing studies using qualitative methods. Hands­ on training in the applications of ATLAS­-ti and NVIVO software in qualitative research data processing were the peculiar features of this workshop.

Dr Jeevan Jyoti was the workshop director and Dr Harleen Kaur was the workshop co-director, which was attended by more than 73 faculty and research scholars across various universities and colleges of Jammu.

The resource persons were felicitated by Prof Neetu Andotra, dean business studies; Prof Hardeep Chahal, rector Udhampur campus and Prof Gurjeet Kaur, head, department of commerce, university of Jammu.
