JU’s annual feature ‘Display Your Talent’ commences

Display Your Talent 2018-19′ commenced here on Friday at the University of Jammu. ‘Display Your Talent’ is an annual feature of the department of students’ welfare, university of Jammu in which students from the affiliated degree colleges and university departments participate in 33 different competitions of music, dance, literary, fine-arts and theatrical activities. 

Prof MK Dhar, vice-chancellor, university of Jammu was the chief guest at the inaugural function.

   

The inaugural program started with the lighting of traditional lamp by the dignitaries. Prof MK Dhar stated with gladness that ‘Display Your Talent’ is a unique cultural extravaganza which is organised annually by the varsity.

He welcomed all the participants to the platform which has provided inspiration to hundreds of its alumni who have brought laurels for the university and State as well which is testified with the fact that all the alumni of ‘Display Your Talent’ cherish their association with it. He congratulated the students for their participation in different events and also mentioned them to be the future leaders of tomorrow in different fields.

Prof Parmeshwari Sharma, dean students’ welfare, in her welcome address, expressed her gladness over the notable participation of the students this year.

The events of western singing were conducted on the first day of Display Your Talent. In Western vocal (Solo), Himani Vaid from GCW, Parade stood first and Shumalini from The Business School stood second.

The Third position was shared by Sachin from SPMR College of Commerce and Nishant Shafi from Institute of Music and Fine Arts.  

In Western vocal (Group), the team of GCW Parade stood first, and the teams of The Business School, JU and SPMR College of Commerce stood second and third respectively.  

On 15 September, the event of poetry recitation would be conducted at Brig Rajinder Singh auditorium, university of Jammu.
