Justice Sanjay Gupta’s demise widely condoled

The demise of Justice Sanjay Gupta, a sitting Judge of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court has widely been condoled. People from all walks including bureaucrats, politicians and legal fraternity expressed their grief over the demise of the judge.

LG Murmu: Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu expressing his grief over the demise described the deceased as an eminent jurist who served the bench with outmost dedication and made valuable contributions in the field of law. His death is a great loss to Judiciary and the legal fraternity, he said.

   

The Lt Governor prayed for peace to the departed soul and conveyed his deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family.

Advisor Baseer Khan: Advisor to LG, Baseer Ahmad Khan in his condolence message described the deceased judge as an eminent towering legal mind who served the bench with boundless dedication, utmost integrity and commitment.

Advisor Baseer Khan prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul as well as fortitude and strength for the bereaved family.

JKPCC: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress committee also expressed deep shock over the demise of Justice Sanjay Gupta.

In a condolence message, JKPCC President G A Mir and other senior party leaders expressed their condolences over the death of sitting judge of the J&K High court.

They said Justice Gupta was known for his honesty and humility and a very good human being throughout his life. He worked hard with sincerity and dedication to reach to the level as judge of high court. His death has created a void in the society.

JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma (Advocate) has expressed deep shock and anguish over his death and termed it a great loss to the bar and the bench.

The signatories include Raman Bhalla, Mula Ram, Yogesh Sawhney, Majid Wani, Balwan Singh Rajnish Sharma, Manmohan Singh, Ashok Sharma, Shah Mohd M K Bhardwaj , Shiv Dev Singh, Hari Singh Chib.

JKAP: Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP), senior leader and former Minister, Aijaz Ahmed Khan also condoled the demise of Justice Gupta.

In a condolence message, the former minister prayed to God for the peace of the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family members to bear this irreparable loss.

The JKAP senior leader said that Justice Sanjay was known for his honest approach and dedication towards the work so that people do not suffer. He has expressed his sympathy with the bereaved family members.

Legal fraternity

Meanwhile, a condolence meeting over the demise of Justice Sanjay Gupta was held today by the judicial officers and employees of Udhampur district Judiciary.

The meeting was presided over by Principal District and Session Judge Udhampur, Mohan Lal Manhas and attended by the judicial officers and staff members who expressed deep sorrow at the death of Justice .

The meeting expressed heartfelt grief at the sad and untimely demise of the justice Gupta and said that his sudden death has come as a shock to legal fraternity and is a big loss to the Bar and the Bench.

The Principal District and Session Judge said that Justice Gupta was known for his humility and fast disposal of cases. “He remained dedicated to his duties and devoted to justice. He was often referred as a hardworking but a pro-human judge”, he added.

As a mark of respect, the officers and staff members observed two minutes silence and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Those who participated were Additional Session Judge S.R Gandhi, Sub Judge, CJM, Mohd Rafiq Chak, Sub Judge Sandeep Kour, District Mobile Magistrate Ajay Kumar, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Girja Shavan and Munsiff Kamaya Singh.

In Reasi, the condolence meeting was held under the chairmanship of Principal District and Session Judge Reasi.

A two minutes silence was observed and the participants prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.

The participants also conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Judicial officers, Bar Members and employees of Reasi District Judiciary were present on the occasion.
