Jammu University Teachers Association has expressed its support to Kashmir University Teachers Association’s demand for appointment of an academician registrar at the varsity.
“In order to maintain high academic standards, the university is bound to have best of the minds as its faculty and academic administrators. The person at the position of Registrar in the University hierarchy is the one which is required to have complete familiarity and experience with academics at the highest level besides a good administrator. That’s why it has been precedence in the university system to have an able academician as registrar,” read a statement issued by the JUTA.
It has always been a policy to have best of teachers as registrar and therefore JUTA endorses and strongly supports the stand taken by KUTA about the appointment of an able academician as registrar, it said.
“JUTA appeals VCs of both the universities viz. University of Jammu and University of Kashmir, to kindly follow the precedence for smooth and efficient functioning of the universities,” it said.
