Kathua rape, murder: Omar Abdullah takes jibe at Mehbooba Mufti

Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said that “If Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti agrees to hand the Kathua rape and murder case over to the CBI, “it will be another installment in the price she’s paying to remain CM.”

Omar’s statement came a day after a minister in Prime Minister’s office Dr Jitendra Rana said that, ‘there is no harm in handing over Kathua rape and murder case to CBI.”

   

An eight year old girl was raped and murdered in Heranagar area of Kathua district. Crime Branch has already arrested an SPO Deepak Khujaria.

Right wing parties supported by BJP are demanding the release of the accused while Union minister and BJP’s Udhampur MP Jitendra Singh has said “there is no harm in handing over the Kathua rape and murder case to the Central Bureau of Investigation.” He also criticised politicians at high positions” for making “judgmental remarks” on the topic.  

Reacting over his remarks former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah tweeted: “The case is being handled by the J&K police. If @MehboobaMufti agrees to hand the case over to the CBI, it will be another installment in the price she’s paying to remain CM.”
