Lt Gen Ranbir Singh visits Ladakh, reviews situation

Ahead of winter, lieutenant general Ranbir Singh, the general officer commanding-in-chief of the army’s Udhampur-based Northern Command Sunday said visited Ladakh region and reviewed security situation along the Line of Control with Pakistan and the Line of Actual Control with China.

An army spokesman said the top army commander arrived in Leh and was briefed by lieutenant general Yogesh Kumar Joshi, the general officer commanding of Leh-based Fire and Fury Corps (14 corps).  “He was informed about readiness of troops and forward formations in view of winters and snowfall in the upper reaches and also about stores and stock positioning for winters, as all connecting roads in Ladakh remain closed for winter months,” the spokesman said.

   

Lt Singh also visited forward posts along LoC where he was briefed by field commanders on ground situation about the current operational and security situation, said colonel Rajesh Kalia, officiating spokesperson of the Northern Command.
