Police on Thursday booked a man for allegedly hiding information about travelling through various red zones on way to his native village Shahzadpur in Samba district.
An official said after receiving an input a police partyfrom Ramgarh traced the man to his native village.
The accused had travelled from Maharashtra to Ramgarh in atruck carrying essential commodities, police said.
The official said the man, Sanjay Kumar of Shahzadpur, wasimmediately home quarantined with the assistance of health department.
“Despite knowing how deadly the infection is, the man wasnegligent and travelled through various red zones and hid his travel history,thereby putting at risk the lives of his family members and others,” said theofficial.
A case (FIR No 41 of 2020 under section 269, 270 and 188 ofIPC) has been registered against the person at police station Ramgarh, theofficial said.
