A missing woman was found murdered in a village of Poonch after which police registered a case of murder.
A police official told Greater Kashmir that a missing report was lodged with police station Poonch by a family of Kunaiyan village stating that Shakeela Bi wife of Mohammad Farooq, aged about 27 years, had gone missing from her house since the evening of 18 December.
“While her search was started and efforts were on to trace her, an information was received that a body is lying in dense forest area of the village. A team of police rushed to the spot and recovered the body,” said official.
He said the body was identified to be of the missing housewife and spot inspection was conducted and body was shifted to Poonch hospital for post mortem.
“After the post mortem today morning, the body was handed over to the family,” said official.
He said that during examination and prime facia investigation, it has been seen that throat of woman was slit and she has been murdered by someone.
“We have registered a case of murder,” said official.
