Prabhat Pheri has emerged as a major event of the ongoing Navratra Festival witnessing participation of large number of devotees and pilgrims.

On the occasion of 8th Navratra, the chief guest Shiv Kumar Sharma, joint secretary, J&K Sports Council and president of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, inaugurated the Prabhat Pheri in presence of several other                           guests.

The magnificent congregation started from bus stand  Katra and passed through Shiv Mandir, Ban Ganga Road, Yog Ashram, Hanuman Mandir, Sheetla Mata Mandir and  culminated back at bus stand.

Introduced for the first in the annual Navratra Festival, the Prabhat Pheri evoked massive response from the locals and tourists.

It is pertinent to mention here that long ago during the yesteryears of ethnic India, people from villages used to get up early in the morning before sun rise and take rounds of the village with chanting and singing bhajans.

Bobby and group of Chintamani Mohalla joined the Navratra Festival Prabhat Pheri and infused more enthusiasm to it as the crowd grew larger.

Later, senior citizens forum led by Dr. Sukhdev Singh, Mubark Singh and Sunder Sharma and other members also joined the Prabhat Pheri.

Chairman, Navratra Festival Prabhat  Pheri  Committee Katra, Raj Kumar Padha highlighted the fast growing  popularity of the Prabhat Pheri.
