No regularization policy for academic arrangement polytechnic lecturers

Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Hanjura, today informed the Upper House that presently there was no policy for regularization of Lecturers and Demonstrators working in various Government Polytechnics and technical department on the academic arrangement. The Minister was replying to a calling attention notice by legislator Charanjeet Singh in the House in this regard.

The Minister informed the House that the selection against the teaching Gazetted and Non-Gazetted posts are referred to the recruiting agencies including J&K Public Service Commission and J&K Service Selection Board.

   

He, however said, “As per the Court directions the candidates who were already engaged on academic arrangements are not to be replaced with other academic arrangements till the permanent arrangements are made by the Department and the same process is continuing as on date,” he informed.

The Minister further informed that presently 202 candidates are working on academic arrangement basis in the polytechnics of the State and added their remuneration has been enhanced from Rs 7000 to Rs 9000 in case of degree holder Lecturers and from Rs 6500 to Rs 8500 in respect of Demonstrator (Diplomaholders) vide Government Order No. 72-Edu (Tech) of 2017 dated 26-07-2017 on the approval of the Finance Department.
