“Lauding the professionalism of the army, the governor emphasised sharp vigil along the Line of Control and IB and maintenance of high ethical standards during discharge of duties,” the statement read.
The northern army commander lieutenant general Ranbir Singh Tuesday briefed the governor Satya Pal Malik on the prevailing security situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
Singh, who met the governor at Raj Bhavan here, briefed him about the prevailing security situation along the forward areas and the hinterland, operational preparedness of the army for anti-insurgency and measures being taken for ensuring safety and security of the people living along the Line of Control and the International Border, an official spokesman said in a statement.
