In a significant decision to curb corruption, J&K government has asked departments to produce GPS evidences and photographic proof of executed works for payments.
As per an advisory issued by General Administrative Department, the departments have been directed to ensure all works are fully described through GPS coordinates and photographs before and after execution of works are mandatorily produced before recieving payment.
The decision has been taken after Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) informed about receipt of complaints regarding embezzlement of funds in various departments through release of funds repeatedly against already restored works which are in good condition.
Further, the order said, no word should be taken up without administrative approval (AA). “Drawal of bills against any non-existent works/renovation needs to be stopped forthwith,” the statemenbt said. The administrative Secretaries are requested to put in place a proper mechanism to ensure compliance to the instructions, it said.
