NPP delegation, V-C Jammu University, ors call on Governor

Various delegations and dignitaries called on Governor Satya Pal Malik at Raj Bhavan here on Saturday.    

NATIONAL PANTHERS PARTY 

   

A delegation of National Panthers Party led by the party patron Prof Bhim Singh called on Governor Satya Pal Malik and apprised him about various issues relating to ensuring development and normalcy in the state and certain matters of public welfare and ensuring accountability in administrative functioning.

The Governor assured the delegation expeditious examination of their demands and addressing of their concerns.

VICE-CHANCELLOR JAMMU UNIVERSITY 

Prof. Manoj K. Dhar, Vice Chancellor Jammu University, met Governor Satya Pal Malik, Chancellor of the University. This was his first meeting with the Governor after taking over as Vice-Chancellor of the University this year, an official spokesman said. 

He said that Prof Dhar briefed the Governor about various important academic and administrative matters relating to the functioning of the University and the initiatives taken in the past months, to maintain sustained focus on quality teaching and research activities.

Governor emphasized strengthening capabilities of the University to make it a center of excellence in teaching, learning, research and extracurricular activities.

GOC 26 INF DIVISION 

Major General Sharad Kapoor, GoC, 26 Infantry Division, met Governor Satya Pal Malik and briefed him about the security situation in the area of his responsibility.

During their discussions, the Governor and the GOC reviewed issues relating to the pattern of infiltration from across the International Border and Line of Control and discussed various other issues relating to the overall security environment in the area.

ABDUL RAHEEM RATHER 

Former Finance Minister Abdul Raheem Rather met Governor Satya Pal Malik  and shared with him, his views relating to prevailing political, developmental and security scenario in the state and apprised Governor about various issues of high public importance.

DISPLACED PERSONS DELEGATION  

A delegation of displaced persons (DPs) of 1947 from PaJK, met Governor Satya Pal Malik  and requested him for early settlement of the claims, of DPs whose families were registered outside the state but now are settled in the state, under the scheme of central assistance for one time settlement of families of displaced persons of 1947 from PaJK etc under displacement package for J&K 2015. The Governor assured due examination of their demand.

CHIEF VIGILANCE COMMISSIONER

Chief Vigilance Commissioner P L Gupta briefed Governor about the functioning of the Commission, progress achieved in disposing off the enquiries pending before the Commission and steps taken to enhance the accountability of the administrative system.

Governor advised the CVC to speed up the processes of the Commission to see that the corrupt elements, particularly those occupying senior echelons, are effectively dealt with, if transparency is to be introduced in the functioning of the public institutions.
