PDP demands immediate rollback of domicile law

Peoples DemocraticParty (PDP) on Wednesday termed the central government order defining domicilelaw for J&K  as “frighteningly ambivalent, irresolute  and akinto rubbing salt to the peoples wounds,”  

In a statementissued here, PDP General Secretary and former MLC Surinder Choudhary termed theorder issued defining domicile rights of the people of the erstwhile state as”ill-timed, very badly drafted and outcome of confused and chaoticbureaucracy,” .

   

Choudhary said itseems that the order has been deliberately issued at a time when the entirecountry as well as Jammu and Kashmir is facing an dreadful threat due to theoutbreak of the deadly virus resulting in a lockdown. “Either those at the helmare trying to play a proverbial ostrich or they deliberately are trying toinsult the people by issuing an order which contains ruthlessly confusingcontent,” said Choudhary.  

The PDP GeneralSecretary pitched for its immediate roll back, asking the government of Indiato prioritise all its efforts in containing the spread of COVID-19 in thecountry as well as in Jammu and Kashmir.

“We want thegovernment to save the precious lives from the virus which is out to swallowthe entire human race. When world is battling the Coronavirus pandemic, it isdeeply perturbing that some in the corridors of power are playing mind gameswith the perturbed people of Jammu and Kashmir who have been battling odd timessince decades,” said Choudhary. 

He added that theorder pertaining to the domicile rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir isakin to rubbing salt to their wounds as it contains no word related theprotection of land and jobs and has been issued just for the sake of issuance.”We demand nothing but its immediate rollback,” said the PDP generalsecretary.
