Police rescues three people trapped in snow-bound Kathua

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday said it rescued three persons trapped in snowbound Konali Mata in Duggan area of Bani in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.

A police spokesperson said Rakesh Sharma, Ganesh Sharma of Chaloge Bani and Bishav of Mahanpur had went to establish food and lodgment facilitation center at Noknali Mata Shrine to facilitate pilgrims in Noknali Mata Yatra scheduled to commence from November 5.

   

He said the trio got trapped in heavy snow in the area.

The spokesperson said instantly after receiving the information, police team of police outpost Duggan Bani led by head constable Naresh Kumar launched rescue operations with the help of local youth and after strenuous efforts the trio was rescued from the snowbound area.

“The rescue operation was continuously monitored by both Civil and Police administration Kathua to provide all assistance to rescue team to ensure no loss of any life,” he said.
