President Ram Nath Kovind arrived in Jammu on Wednesday in his maiden visit to Jammu. He is slated to attend the convocation of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU).
A source said that the President arrived at the Governor’s house around 10 am.
“The president, Governor Vohra and chief minister Mehbooba Mufti then reached the SMVDU at 11 am,” he said.
The President will be chief guest at 6th convocation of SMVDU where he will address the students besides presenting Gold medals and PhD degrees to them.
The President is also likely to visit Hari Niwas Palace and Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex in the city. This will be President’s maiden visit to the winter capital of Jammu.
Meanwhile elaborate arrangements have been put in place for the high profile visit.
