After assuming the charge of Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Ranjan Prakash Thakur Thursday reviewed the working of J&K Small Scale Industries Development Corporation (SICOP) at Udyog Bhawan here.
An official spokesman in a statement said that the principal secretary reviewed the activity-wise performance of the corporation and enquired from the Managing Director SICOP about the issues being confronted by the corporation on a regular basis. Thakur was informed that there was huge outstanding with various government departments on account of supply of various MSME products and key-construction materials as a result of which local MSMEs were suffering for long.
The principal secretary assured that he would take up the matter with the concerned departments so that the money of the MSMEs and corporation was recovered. Thakur said that he would visit industrial estates to have first-hand information about the availability of materials to MSMEs and the problems being faced by the entrepreneurs.
He asked the Managing Director SICOP to keep a close liaison with the industrialists so that their demands and problems are settled within no time. The principal secretary impressed upon the officers of the corporation to work with zeal and dedication.
Thakur assured that he would be available to the entrepreneurs at all times.
