Pulwama attack aftermath: Get your facts straight: Congress to Omar Abdullah

The Congress party Thursday asked former chief minister Omar Abdullah to “get his facts straight”, before alleging that the Congress has remained silent over the “harassment” of Kashmiri students outside the state.

JKPCC chief spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma, said, “Congress strongly reacted repeatedly to reports of harassments in some parts of country and the senior national spokesperson, DrAbhishekh Manu Singhvi, is on record having repeatedly condemned such attempts on behalf of the Indian National Congress. The Dehradun unit of Congress also strongly condemned these attempts and appealed for their (Kashmiri students) safety time and again.”

Sharma also asked the NC leader to “check the handling of situation” by the Congress-ruled governments in Rajasthan and Punjab, where “all out efforts were made to ensure the safety and security of innocent students from Kashmir studying there”.

“The Congress is always committed to isolate the enemies of peace and harmony and maintain religious brotherhood to defeat the nefarious designs of anti-social elements, anywhere in the state,” he added.
