The moderate rains that lashed Jammu on Friday inundated several low lying areas of the city and the damaged roads, thereby adding to the problems of the people and obstructing smooth vehicular movement.

The potholes at many places like, Panama Chowk, GGM Science College road leading right upto Muthi, and in the interior areas like Bakshi Nagar, Shakti Nagar and Rehari were inundated.

The rains also damaged some of the roads which were repaired sometime back, as the repair patches were washed away at some places. Many drains in the low lying areas of the city like Shakti Nagar, Bakshi Nagar, Krishna Nagar and Talab Tillo were chocked, due to which water accumulated on the roads and in the inner lanes.

The locals said that if the situation is such in moderate rainfall, one could well imagine what would happen during the monsoon.
