Lauding philanthropic approach, especially in health sector, National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana on Friday said voluntary efforts would go a long way in improving health status, especially in the areas lacking facilities.

“Time has come when a holistic approach is needed towards aged care services,” Rana said, while inaugurating a Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre at Sidhra bypass.

The Provincial President appreciated the newly launched facility with regard to free physiotherapy and cataract surgeries at the Centre to patients living Below Poverty Level and wished the management grand success in its philanthropic efforts. “This is imperative for covering such segments of the society, which can’t afford quality treatment,” he added. He hoped that the area and its adjoining localities will be provided the best available services, besides high quality state-of-art treatment from highly experienced physiotherapists.

Rana also said that the private sector with missionary spirit could hugely help in achieving the objective of health for all, especially in an era when people have become more health conscious. “This can be achieved only when the health services are available and affordable for the lower strata of society, which need more care due to various factors,” the MLA Nagrota said.

The Provincial President particularly appreciated the offer of free cataract surgeries, saying this will prove bone for old and aged. He complimented Kuldeep Singh Jamwal for sponsoring the effort and hoped such a missionary spirit will inspire others for arranging free medical camps in various other disciplines in the area. He said people having access to quality and affordable health care services is a welcome step.

Rana emphasized the need for holistic physiotherapy centres to treat growing complaints about stiffness in joints and muscles, back and neck pain, mobility and walking and related problems, especially in advanced age. He said the outreach of this discipline of health care is needed to be expanded and extended to rural and remote areas to cover the affected people and ensure that they lead healthy life.

The Advanced Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre will be manned under the expert guidance of Dr Isha Kour, Dr Richa Sharma and Dr Gaurav Sharma.

Rana wished the management success in their endeavors.
