Road connectivity opens up vistas of opportunities in Nagrota: Rana

As part of his initiative to enhance road connectivity in Nagrota Assembly constituency, National Conference provincial president, Devender Singh Rana on Friday said people’s resolve for development has inspired him to work towards touching new milestones.

“Road connectivity is crucial for enhancing economic activity”, Rana said while interacting with the people after driving on Surinsar-Behda road in Sagoon Panchayat, marking the road connectivity in the area.

   

The people of the area greeted Rana with huge applause, as a vehicle reached their village for the first time. The funds for the purpose were borne by Rana, the former MLA Nagrota, himself.

The provincial president expressed happiness over the road link, hoping this will ensure much needed mobility to commuters, especially students and elders, besides transportation of farm produce from one place to another.

He said economy of any area is dependent upon road connectivity and it has been his endeavour to connect every hamlet, even if entails voluntary contribution of the people and financial assistance by him. 

Rana dwelt upon elaborately on various initiatives taken during his tenure as MLC and MLA and said though much has been done yet much more is still required to be achieved.

He said he has been pursuing various projects and schemes from the conceptual stages up to the implementation stage.

“Persistent persuasion and constant monitoring has mostly resulted in time-bound completion of these thus accruing benefits to the targeted segments of population”, he added.

The former MLA said that the people of Nagrota have envisioned a dream of transforming the constituency as a model one in the entire Jammu region and he has been endeavouring for its realization.

As a result of persuasion, Nagrota has now emerged as an economic, academic, sports and tourism hub.

Placed ideally on the National Highway and in close vicinity of the capital city of Jammu, the constituency has potential to grow immensely. “We are working towards this objective”, he said and hoped that the people will continue to support him in this mission.

The NC provincial president congratulated the people of the area for being linked with roads and said eventually these will be upgraded in a phased manner.
