Principal Secretary Higher Education Department, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, today chaired an officers’ meeting to review the ongoing development works in IIT Jammu, IIM Jammu, NIT Srinagar, GCET, BGSBU, IUST and SMVDU at Jammu.
During the meeting, the Chief Engineers concerned assured to expedite augmentation of dedicated water supply/electric supply to IIT campus at Jagti, Jammu, an official handout said.
They also assured to expedite establishment of out-campus at Srinagar on rental basis for which adequate accommodation is being identified by them.
IIT Jammu shall mentor GCET at Janglote and NIT Srinagar shall mentor GCET at Safapora.
TEQIP-III project was also reviewed and GCET, BGSBU, IUST and SMVDU were requested to accelerate the works against allocation of Rs. 60 crore for the purpose by MHRD, the statement said.
