Security heightened in Jammu for PM’s Jan 15 visit

A coordinated security grid has been put in place for the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Jammu, Central Reserve Police Force said today.

“CRPF along with other agencies and army have put a very effective security blanket in Jammu,” said Ashish Kumar Jha, commandant of CRPF’s 166th Battalion told the Greater Kashmir when asked about preparations for the PM’s January 15 visit and January 26 celebrations.

   

Jha, who is also CRPF’s Jammu-based spokesperson, said, “All the agencies and forces including intelligence agencies are working in a very coordinated way.”

Reports said around 1,500 security personnel from CRPF, Sashastra Seema Bal and Indo-Tibetan Border Police have been deployed in and around the city and highway to keep close vigil, in addition to already deployed police. Special night patrolling and nakas have also been strengthened, police and para-military troops inspect each and every vehicle entering the city.
