SFRI, district jail Amphallaorganise plantation-cum-biodiversity program

The State Forest Research Institute (SFRI), Jammu in collaboration with district jail Amphallaorganised a plantation-cum-biodiversity program under forest management and biodiversity conservation programme here on Monday.

On the occasion, the jail inmates shared their artistic talent reflecting connectivity to nature and worship through their creations including paintings on flowers, trees, birds, animals, poetry collection based on forest wilderness.

   

Superintendent of police, Dinesh Sharma, briefed about various activities undergoing in the district jail and highlighted significance of Indian plants linked to culture and Indian system of medicine.

The jail inmates expressed their views on plants and shared inputs on significance of plants, eco-friendly product innovations. Important plants like Bael, KanakChampa, Maulsari, Jiyopota, Neem, Chameli, Tulsi were planted in the campus to mark celebration of BasantPanchmi.
