Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti discussed the overall security scenario in the state, in the backdrop of army base attack.
Sitharaman, who flew to winter capital early today, called on the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti here this evening, said an official spokesman.
“During the meeting, the two leaders discussed the overall security scenario obtaining in the State particularly in the backdrop of continued shelling on the borders and the attack on Army camp at Sunjwan two days ago,” he said.
Six people, including five soldiers, were killed in the Fidayeen attack on Sunjwan army base. Four attackers were also killed.
