Soldier, 3 civilians injured in cross LoC firing: Officials

An army man and three civilians, including an 11-year-old girl, were injured during a ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district, officials said Monday.

The Pakistani army started shelling villages and forwardposts on Sunday and it continued until this morning, they said.

   

“They started with small arms and later resorted to mortarshelling. The Army is retaliating befittingly,” the officials said.

One army man received splinter injuries, the officials said.They said said the girl, Maryam Bi, 11, was injured in Kanote village and twoothers were injured in Shahpur village.Last week, a soldier was killed and three otherswere injured in mortar shelling by Pakistani army along the Line of Control inSalotri forward area of Poonch district.
