State will get huge funds after ULBs, Panchayat elections, says Bali

Former minister and MLA Raipur-Domana, Bali Bhagat on Sunday said that decision to hold civic bodies and Panchayat elections was taken for the welfare of the people because setting up these bodies though democratic system would ensure flow of funds from the Centre.

Addressing series of public meetings in support of party candidates for Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) elections, Bhagat said that Union Government headed by Prime Minister Narindra Modi has given befitting reply to the blackmailing politics of PDP and NC leaders. 

   

“Instead of giving importance to blackmailing politics of these two political outfits, Union Government has given importance to the wishes and aspirations of the people of state , who want strengthen of democratic institutions at the grass-root level”, he said .

 “State loses amount worth Rs 1500 crore due to delay in conducting civic bodies elections and 4900 crores due to non existing of Panchayati Raj system in Jammu and Kashmir”, he said and told the people that after completion of the elections of civic bodies and Panchayats this huge amount would be released by the Centre for the over-all development of state.

Calling upon the people to teach Congress a lesson for depriving common masses of their democratic rights, he alleged Congress has always betrayed people of Jammu region for the lust of power.
