Stranded people at Pathankot sent to their homes from Lakhanpur

As many as 1211 people, who were stranded in Pathankotdistrict of Punjab due to the imposition of lockdown, were brought today atLakhanpur in Punjab Roadways buses who have completed 21 days of quarantine atdifferent quarantine centers of Pathankot.

DC Kathua informed that the Pathankot Administration handedover these people to Kathua District Administration at Lakhanpur amid properarrangements. He said that stranded people passed through the sanitizationtunnel and then they stood in a queue maintaining social distancing.

   

He further said that a team of doctors and paramedical staffrecorded their temperature through hand held thermometer and they were asked tofill a self reporting form at Lakhanpur indicating their personal information,travel history and whether they were showing any symptoms of COVID-19.

The District Administration has arranged a fleet of SRTCbuses to send these people to their respective districts, DC said and addedthat 350 people in today`s batch belong to Kashmir while, rest of them belongto Jammu Division. District wise segregation of travelers was also done anddifferent buses for different districts will be sent directly from Lakhanpur,DDC said.

The DDC along with SSP, Shailendra Mishra also inspectedother arrangements put in place at Lakhanpur to restrain coronavirus. Strictlock down guidelines was enforced at Lakhanpur to ensure no uncheckedinward/outward movement except for essential and medical services, DDCdivulged.

ADC Kathua, Atul Gupta, Nodal Officer for Lakhanpur controlroom, Arvind Karwani, ASP, Ramnish Gupta, DSP HQ, Majid Mehboob, DSP DAR, K DBhagat, Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars and other District Officers were alsopresent on this occasion.
