Sukesh urges LS Speaker for expeditious action against Dr Farooq

Eminent social activist Sukesh Khajuria on Sunday urged the LokSabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan for expeditious action against Dr Farooq Abdullah for his alleged seditious statement on Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK).

As per the release, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan had earlier referred a complaint of the activist to the Parliament’s Committee on Petitions.

SukeshKhajuria, the former member of Prominent Citizen’s Advisory Committee constituted by J&K government, requested the Speaker to take action against Dr Abdullah by disqualifying him from the membership of the LokSabha.

In his recent letter addressed to the LokSabha Speaker, Khajuria has claimed that since Farooq’s statement was highly seditious and limited time is left for the completion of the term of the 16th LokSabha, his petition should be taken up on priority by the Parliament’s Committee on Petitions.

“If my complaint is not taken in the stipulated time frame, there are chances that my petition would also become redundant,” he said in his recent complaint addressed to Sumitra Mahajan, the LokSabha Speaker.

According to SukeshKhajuria, Farooq Abdullah, on the sidelines of a function at party headquarters in Srinagar had said on November 11, 2017,”  “PaK belongs to Pakistan and Kashmir to India and this truth wouldn’t change. Let both India and Pakistan fight for as many years as they want to. Truth wouldn’t change.”

According to Khajuria, this statement of a Parliamentarian amounts to sedition and the LokSabha Speaker should disqualify him for such statement.

Khajuria has also forwarded the copy of the complaint to the President of the Country for information and necessary action against Dr Abdullah.
