Goswami chaired a meeting of locals, members of Panchayati Raj institutions from various villages of Pouni and district officers, to review the relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction works.

Union Home Secretary, Anil Goswami Monday visited Pouni and its adjoining areas to review the situation and pace of execution of works in the wake of September 2014 floods in Reasi district.

Goswami chaired a meeting of locals, members of Panchayati Raj institutions from various villages of Pouni and district officers, to review the relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction works as well as to listen to developmental needs of the people, an official handout said.

It said Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Shabir Bhatt briefed the Union Secretary about the measures taken by the district administration to provide relief as well as to rehabilitate the people in flood and landslide hit areas of the district.

Addressing the gathering, Goswami assured the people that their problems and developmental needs would be projected to the concerned on priority and needful would be done to boost the tourism sector, so that more employment avenues are generated and prosperity is assured in every nook and corner of the region.
