The armed forces today celebrated Vijay Diwas with traditional enthusiasm in Jammu and Kashmir.

At Dhruva Shahid Smarak at the Northern Command headquarters in Udhampur, the Army organised a wreath-laying ceremony to pay homage to the soldiers who fought in the war, a defence spokesperson said.

“The supreme sacrifices and undeterred grit of the valiant soldiers of the Indian Army has changed the course of history,” General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Northern Command, Lt. Gen. D Anbu said.

General-officer-Commanding of the elite White Knight Corps (16 Corps), Lt. Gen. Saranjit Singh, laid a wreath at Ashwamedh Shaurya Sthal, a war memorial, at Nagrota.

Chinar Corps celebrated Vijay Diwas as Lt Gen J S Sandhu, GOC paid tributes to the martyrs at a solemn ceremony organised at the War Memorial in  Badami Bagh Cantonment, Srinagar.
