National Conference north zone secretary advocate Nazir Malik has lambasted the successive regimes for failing to provide healthcare facilities to Bandipora district.

In a statement here advocate Malik said, “Bandipora district has been ignored by the successive regimes. Bandipora district hospital is in shambles. People of this district don’t even enjoy the dispensary facilities.”

He said that there is shortage of doctors in Bandipora and it has marred the health sector. “The construction of Bandipora hospital commenced in 2007 but till date hospital has not been completed,” Malik said. “We have not moved an inch with reference to healthcare facilities in the district. By every means the sub district Bandipora hospital looks worse than a simple clinic. Be it any ward or OPD the basic machinery is unavailable. Hundreds of the patients have to be dependent on a single doctor. The Bandipora hospital is in utter disarray. Bathrooms are in highly unhygienic condition presenting a very sorry tale. “

He appealed to the Governor Satya Pal Malik to intervene and ensure completion of Bandipora district hospital.
