Kashmiri doc invited to Friends of Syrian meet

Srinagar, Dec 10: Kashmir born British citizen, Brig Dr Sohail Nasti has been invited to the Friends of Syria Meet to be held in Morocco on December 12.
 The US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is also expected to attend the meet. The Friends of Syria meeting provides an opportunity to consult with like-minded governments in the region and around the world on how best to continue support for the Syrian opposition and on efforts to end the bloodshed, said a statement of the US State Department.
 Brig Dr Nasti is amongst the few stronghold Western professionals who opposed Assad regime. Nasti was attacked by the Syrian intelligence during an official visit in September. He, however, survived the attack and had to spend more than a month in the hospital.
 Brig Nasti is doing a lot of lobbying and advocacy to highlight the atrocities on Syrian civilians. Dr Nasti was born in Islamabad district of south Kashmir. He did his MBBS from Srinagar and went abroad for further studies. He is CEO of Mother Helpage Worldwide, a charity organization active in more than 20 countries.
