2 cops injured in grenade attack

Two policemen were wounded after militants hurled a grenade at police post Warpora in Sopore on Saturday, police said.

Senior superintendent of police SoporeHarmeet Singh said, “Militants lobbed two grenades at Police station Warpora resulting in minor injuries to two policemen. They were rushed to a hospital”

   

Soon after that attack forces launched a hunt to nab the assailants.

Clashes during CASO 

Meanwhile, a youth was injured in clashes between protesters and government forces at ChewaKalan hamlet in Pulwama district on Saturday.

Clashes erupted after forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation in the area following inputs about the presence of militants.

Witnesses said that forces fired pellets and tear gas shells after youth pelted them with stones to disrupt the search operation.

A youth, identified as Amir ShabirBhat, was hit by pellet in his eye. He was shifted to a hospital for treatment, a police official told Greater Kashmir.
