2 CRPF men injured in Pulwama attack

Two Central Reserve Police Force personnel were injured when militants attacked their camp at Newa village in southern Pulwama district on Monday, the police said. A police official said that militants fired a UBGL grenade at 183 battalion CRPF camp in Newa at around 10 pm. The grenade attack was followed by indiscriminate firing, causing injuries to two personnel, the official said.

He said that both CRPF men, identified as Santosh Bharti and Amit Kumar, sustained bullet injuries and were evacuated to district hospital Pulwama.

   

Bharti, according to the official, received bullet in his hand while Kumar suffered injuries in his shoulder.

An official at district hospital Pulwama said that Kumar was later referred to Srinagar’s general specialty SMHS hospital for advanced treatment.
